Lakema Howard

Lakema Howard, RHIA, Notary Public, was recommissioned as a notary public in 2022 by the state of Georgia and is a member of the National Notary Association. She is also a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) licensed by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). In the past decade Lakema has served on the Board of Directors for the North Georgia Health Information Management Association (NGHIMA). She has managed HIM Operations for two of the largest hospital systems in the state of Georgia to include hundreds of multidisciplinary physician offices and ambulatory surgery centers. While serving the hospital system she’s notarized surgeon contracts, provided oversight for the notarization of live births to the Department of Public Health- Vital Records, facilitated Release of Information (ROI) education, and certified the Release of Protected Health Information when requested for litigation.
